MORE NEW ITEMS

I'm on a roll! How did I manage to make more new polymer clay items? Especially this month too. I've been so busy with work, finishing deadline for the year and going to a few events - engagement parties, christmas parties, birthdays etc. Not to mention all the christmas duties - searching for presents, putting the tree up, writing cards, and wrapping presents! But I can not wait for the festive holidays to begin. Only 7 working days left for me yippee!

This year I'm going away with friends over new year and doing the family thing over Christmas. But mostly I just wanted to RELAX and not have much planned. What have you guys got planned over Christmas and New Years?

And now, introducing my new items: Peeled banana earrings, hamburger earrings, cupcake, lollipop, and ice cream earrings. All available in my store now!

NEW ITEMS

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend has been fun so far!

Just a quick post showing some new things going up in my store.

First up, I've had a super nice customer request a special custom order of a gorgeous cupcake charm bracelet and ariel necklace for her daughter for chistmas! She wanted the mermaid necklace to look similar to Ariel from The Little Mermaid as it's her daughter's fave movie (mine too!)

I thought the necklace I made was sooo gorgeous that I had to make an earring set too! Unfortunately both the charm bracelet and necklace is reserved but the earrings are available in my store now.

I also made up these cute notecards with my sweets illustrations that pop out of the cards (like 3D!) There's 4 cards, with matching envelopes and they all have different sweets.

Lastly, I designed a helpful food diary/planner. It's a printable PDF format available in my store so all you need to do is print and use! Great for those who want to keep track of what they're eating (and make sure you're not eating one too many cupcakes before Christmas!)

Holidays and Celebrations,

New art

Hey bloggers! As promised, here are a few pieces of finished artwork for my new stationery set. The stationery set includes notepaper, matching envelopes and stickers. It will soon be available to buy at my store.

I finally got my printer to work properly so I've printed the set myself and hand-made the envelopes for a more personal touch! It was so much fun making, designing and seeing the final thing printed!

Oh and I almost forgot! Do you guys remember ages ago, I designed a page for the 2010 diary project? To refresh your memories, go back here. Well, the lovely Lucy has printed and sent me the final product! It's absolutely stunning and I love all the other artists' work. Each page is unique and different, there's nothing like it. And now I get to flick through and will eventually visit every single artist's website. So much fun! To have a look at the artist's inside the diary or to purchase one go here.

Sweets and candy,

Super Hero

The other weekend we had a themed dress-up BBQ party. The theme: Super Hero.

After days of racking my brain I fnally decided to go as Batgirl. It was the easiest. Wear black, cape, and a mask. I also cut the bat logo from yellow felt and made a yellow belt! The party was a lot of fun and the outfits looked great. Here were the heroes who turned up:

Batgirl
Spiderman
G.I. Joe
G.I. Jane
Zorro
Sailor Moon
Catwoman
Detective
Superman

So if you ever need to dress-up as something, I hope this has inspired you just a little bit!

Thailand!

I've been out of action for a while mainly due to work and preparing to go on vacation! But now I have returned and I know I say this all the time, but I vow to keep up-to-date with blogging. We're in the process of getting internet at home so it'll make posting on my blog, etsy and twittering a lot easier! (i hope!)

Not many of you know this about me, but I LOVE to travel. When I was little, we were asked what are dreams were and all my friends would say, "I want to grow up, have babies and be a good mum". Well my dream was, "I want to travel the whole wide world!" But sadly, I havn't been to many places overseas. I plan to visit Europe, Japan, America, Egypt and NZ next so I'll just keep working away, making enough money until I have enough to take each one head on! But first on the list was Thailand and I'm happy to say that 2 weeks ago... that's where I was!

My favourite thing about Patong Beach in Phuket? The shopping! And I did a lot! I bought bags, wallets, clothes, dresses, socks, dvds, food, shoes, jewellery and bags... and bags... and bags! I bought a lot of bags! I bought presents for mum, dad and my sister and by the end I was so worried my luggage bag would be over the limit! But I wasn't (lucky, I wouldn't have been able throw away anything).

I've been pretty stressed at work recently so this vacation was the perfect thing to do! And it was the most relaxing thing I've done. Thinking about it now just makes me remember how relaxed and carefree I was. We rode on elephants (so cute and clever), ate a lot of food (breakfast was my fave - buffet!), went on a speedboat tour around the 42 islands they have there (so much to see), went on a city tour (cashew nut factory, viewpoints, big buddha, world's biggest gem factory, temples), went to the FantaSea show (spectacular!), went canoeing (fun!), got foot massages, body scrubs, and pedicures (so cheap and so good), went cave exploring (slippery), and enjoyed the nightlife (Bangla Road)!

The only thing I didn't like: The plane trip. 9 hours. Cramped. Babies crying. Headache. But despite that, it was great! Every day was like an adventure. There's so much to see and do (and eat!) that it was hard to choose in the 10 days we were there! I would definately go again and can't wait til the day I do!

Next on my list: Japan!

Celebrity Deaths

It was only last week that I actually realised, Michael Jackson is no longer here with us; and I cried.

Probably brought on by a build up of a lot of bad things happening around me lately, it still surprised me at how sad I felt. (I'm not normally quite an emotional person - let's just say I much prefer action/thriller movies to girly/drama movies). But I think there are a few reasons why.

Firstly, he played a big part in MY childhood - I followed him in my youth. I guess he sort of shaped moments as I was growing up. I remember sneaking dad's copy of Michael Jackson's Thriller album into my discman and listening to it - the lyrics, the melody - as I fell asleep.

Secondly, is his music. Music in general is so powerful to me. It's so universal and speaks to everyone in so many different ways. He used that power and his talent to reach out to people and share important messages to the world. Some songs to me weren't even about the lyrics sometimes. The melody alone was so powerful, I already knew what it was about by feeling it.

Thirdly, was his heart. He was such a sensitive soul - that was pure with love for the people in this world. It was so genuine too - he truly and whole-heartedly wanted everyone in this world to be better to each other. This was most important about Michael Jackson. He wanted to please everyone around him (and everyone around him was literally the whole world) and I don't think he could really handle the fact that there were some people that hated him. I can totally relate to that feeling.

But it's not just Michael Jackson that has left a hole in this world. Princess Diana and Steve Irwin are just a couple of many others that make me sad knowing they are no longer here to continue their great work in this world (especially Steve Irwin - I am a huge animal lover).

I also felt quite useless. Useless that my life hasn't been about trying to make a difference in the world. What if I die tomorrow? Have a helped someone, changed someone's life? Have a left something good in this world? Will someone remember me? What have I done to make a difference? I felt like it was now my responsibility to fill in these holes in the world! It should be ALL OUR responsibility.

How about you guys? What celeb when they died made you feel really sad and affected you in a strong way? If you had all the money and time in the world what would you do to help?

Take One Minute

For the past couple of weeks, things have been quite stressful and sad for me, and the people around me. We've gone through some tough moments and will go through more tough moments in time to come. Diseases, sicknesses, hospital trips and tragic accidents have been a few of the things that have happened to good people I know and have affected a lot of loved ones around me. I think everyone out there has gone through some or most of these things, or know those who have.

I've grown to realise and appreciate every minute I am alive on this earth. Every minute you're able to breathe is so precious and I thank God that I am able to wake up tomorrow. And I'm thankful for loved ones around me who are also able to do the same.

I want everyone to do something for me right now. Just take one minute and text message or give a quick call to your partner, mum, dad, sisters, brothers, anyone you love in your life and just tell them you love them. Just spend one minute writing a simple "I love you" text message to those loved people around you. We don't say it enough to each other, and you never know when those people will have their last minute on this earth. Don't have any regrets, don't wait til tomorrow and don't hold any grudges. Time is precious.

Bobo in Neverland

It's been a while since I posted the next paperdoll outfit for Bobo. And since she's absolutely obsessed with the story of Peter Pan, what better outfit than a Peter Pan outfit!

Let's hope she never grows up!

Please note: this is only to be used for personal use and not for commercial use.

4th January 2010

A little while ago I told you guys that I'm designing a diary date page for the 2010 diary project which is run by the fabulous Lucy. Go here if you can't remember what I'm talking about.

Well, the design has finally been finished and here it is! The real one will actually be in black and white but I wanted to show you guys how I designed it in colour! It was so much fun designing this and I'm so excited to see the final completed diary with all the other amazing artists around the world!

The diary won't be printed until sometime in September though so I've got a while to wait!
