Meet Bourbie and Toby

Bourbie as a puppy (above) Bourbie now (below)
Bourbie is my bf's dog. She's a maltese terrier x shitzu and was about the size of a rat when we first met her. Bourbie barks at everything - the cuckatoos, dogs on tv, the NRMA ad, when you come home, when someone knocks on the door, when she's stuck in the garden, when she wants to go outside, when she wants food, when you're chasing her and when she wants to play with the ball. She acts like a toughie but when there's a thunderstorm she hides in the cupboards and shakes so much her fur falls off (not literally). If you hear thunder and can't find Bourbie, chances are she's climbed into one of the holes in the entertainment unit, or hidden herself in the tupperware cupboard.
Toby as a puppy (above) Toby now (below)
Toby is my dog. He's a german shepherd x husky x dingo (i think). He's definately part dingo because he howls when he hears police/ambulance sirens on the street. One weekend, the fam and I went on a holiday to a remote farm taking along Toby. The little barn that we stayed in was surrounded by big black cows. The cows were so nosey that they were standing as close to the fence as possible looking at us to see what we were doing. Every morning Toby decided it was his job to run outside and tell the cows off. He would run along the fence barking at the cows, but cows being cows they wouldn't pay any attention. Then every night while we were playing Monopoly, he'll curl up next to the table right in the middle of the floor and sleep. The family was safe inside and his job was done for the day. He's as big as a sheep but a big softie inside.

I'm a dog person, dog lover, dog everything!!! These are my 2 faourite dogs in the whole wide world and I love them to bits!!!

Sketches

I've been doing a lot of sketching and experimenting lately. Here are 3 works in progress: Alice in Wonderland inspired Items, Billy Goats Gruff and Goldilocks and the 3 stuffed Bears teaparty. I coloured the Billy Goats Gruff in pastels but am eager to try my hands at colouring them digitally. Will let you know how it goes!

AWARDS: My first!

I have won these 2 amazing awards ("Let's Be Friends Award & "Kreativ Blogger Award") from Rita - an extremely talented artist which features adorable hand drawn and digitally painted prints on her blog which includes adorable girls, cupcakes, mothers, animals, mermaids and more! They are truely beautiful! Thank you so much for these awards.

The "Let's Be Friends Award" states:
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

The rule for these awards:
1. add the logo to your blog
2. link to the person from whom you've received the awards
3. nominate eight blogs of your choice
4. leave a message on the nominees blogs

These are the 8 blogs I have chosen to receive these awards from me:

1. Bakerella
2. Belle & Boo
3. Fischtaledesigns
4. Lovely Little Cakes
5. Molly Chicken
6. Sarah Jane Studios
7. Theodesign

NEW ITEMS

Come check it out! I got the final piece to my 5 set Alice in Wonderland postcards - The mighty scary Queen of Hearts ("Off with your head!"). This now completes my Wonderland set and is available to buy on my Etsy store. (I love them so much!)

I have also added a few more lovely polymer clay jewellery trinkets and a cupcake stationery writing set! This set comes with 10 lined writing sheets with a cupcake design on the back, 10 matching cupcake envelopes, 1 magnetic bookmark and some cupcake cutouts to decorate however you please.

My favourite item? The cupcake bookmark! It's so cute and adorable and USEFUL! I am constantly losing my bookmarks (weird because they're there to help find - does anyone else lose theirs?) but now I won't have to worry because now I have this! The bottom of the bookmark holds a small flat magnet which snaps together the pages you're reading so the mark doesn't fall out! Smart!

NEW NAME - IMPORTANT!

Hi everyone!

I have decided to change my blog title from "tinyshandmade" to "tinysandtea". The main reason for this was that I didn't really like the word "handmade" in the name. There was nothing creative or left to the imagination with my blog's name before even though everything I do is handmade and I love every handmade crafted object but having "tinyshandmade" made it too static. Now it has the addition of "...andtea" purely because of my addiction of tea and also the warm and fuzzy feelings you get when drinking it. Hopefully these are the same feelings you get when reading my blog. It also helps if you're drinking tea at the time :)

A Talented Artist: rkdsign88

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled on this fantastic etsy shop by Rita. I bought a gorgeous and adorable print of a girl holding a tray of a teapot/teacup set. But there are much more talented artworks that is available to buy from her shop (and so cheap too). Here are only just a selected few of my faves.

She is incredibly kind, generous and easy to talk to. I remember when I received my order in the post I was flushed with such excitement it made up week! The print was more than I could ever imagine and also included extra treats! I framed it straight away, hung it on my wall and it looks so cute!

Everything in her store is a pleasure to look at, and it doesn't hurt if you're also obsessed with cupcakes and tea like I am.

Check it out now! and also have a peek at her fantastic blog!

A bit of fun: Dress Bobo

When I was a little girl I loved to play with paperdolls and would always try and draw my own. So I've decided to let you play with some of my creations! Meet Bobo, a small, cute and shy girl that loves clothes and fashion! Click the above pic, then right click and save onto your computer. Print on something quite stiff so it's easier to bend the tags and stick to the doll! Bobo is waiting for you to dress her up!

Please note: this is only to be used for personal use and not for commercial use.

If you go into the woods today...

...you're sure of a big surprise!

"Good morning Little Red Riding Hood" said the Wolf. "Where are you off to on this fine day?"
"To my grandmother's house. She is sick and weak and needs me to comfort her" replied Little Red.
The wolf grinned a toothy grin.
